So you wanna know what gear we use...well, so let’s jump straight into it.

Camera: Nikon D5600

This camera is a D-SLR and is perfect for us. It is a light weight camera that is super easy to use. We shoot our photos in raw so it’s better for editing. There are so many features that make this camera stand out; it has Bluetooth which make it compatible with the SnapBridge smart phone app allowing you to access photos immediately and do remote shooting.

It also has a super handy touch screen that can swivel 180 degrees. It’s also beneficial because you can fold the screen face in so it won’t be scratched in your bag while it’s not being used.

Lenses: 18-55mm, 55-200mm and a 35mm

The exact name of the lens we had purchased with the camera is ‘AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II’. Absolutely perfect for just your average photos while travelling, super compact and easy to use. As the title suggests it has a focal length of 18-55mm and an angle view of 76° - 28°. It only weighs 195 grams.

We also have a Prime lens, ‘AF-S NIKKOR 35MM 1:1.8G’. This lens when paired with our D5600 camera which has a cropped sensor, give the same look as a 50mm Prime lens on a full frame camera. It's perfect for those shots with a nice blurry back ground, It has an angle view of 44° for DX-format . There is a switch on the side giving you the ability to switch between manual and auto focusing.

Our zoom lens, 'AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200MM f/4-5.6G ED VR II'. We love this lens, Its great for landscape pics, as well as being able to get closer to animals with out disturbing them. YES, it does have vibration reduction for a more stable image. This is the perfect compact beginners zoom lens.

On-Camera Microphone: Rode VideoMicro

This is a small, directional mic which is designed to improve your audio quality for videos, perfect

for vlogging. In the box you will get - the VideoMicro, Lyre Shoe Mount, 3.5mm TRS patch cable and a Deluxe wind shield. This Microphone doesn’t require any batteries, it is powered by the cable connecting it to the camera.

Drone: DJI Mavic Mini Fly More

We did have the DJI Spark but Michael decided to upgrade and get the DJI Mavic Mini as it is smaller with

foldable arms, better quality camera, 3 axis gimbal appose to a 2 axis, much lighter with further range and longer bat

Action Cam: DJI OSMO Action

We have recently made the switch from GoPro to DJI OSMO Action. Let me tell you the decision was easy when you see its features. This Action Cam has a dual screens, one front and rear. The front is super hand if you are using it for some vlogging or selfies, so you can get the correct framing. It is waterproof without adding an extra shell to the camera. Has a battery life of 135 minutes and can shoot 4K footage. This one also has great stabilisation.

Tri-Pod: Manfrotto – Compact Action aluminium tripod with hybrid head

Tri-Pods are a must if you like taking long exposure photos or have no one around to take a photo with you in it. We use one by Manfrotto and its great - One of our favourite things about this is that it’s compact. It has a max height of 155cm and min height of 44cm, reasonably light weighing in at 1.2kg and can safely hold a camera weighing 1.5kg.

Thanks for reading. Hope your now able to go and start you camera gear collection
