Amazing Food, Disneyland and of course the Eiffel Tower.

We have wanted to go to Paris for so long! We spent three days here (chat about what we did shortly) it was amazing! I believe Paris should be on everyone bucket list. We had a perfect time here!

Before you head off on you trip to Paris we recommend checking online for some of the places you might see yourself visiting. Most attractions will do an online discount, or even show you high and low times/days to visit. This truly help us.

We only had 3 days here, with so much we wanted to fit in. So for us planning out our days worked best.

We had come from Brussels, which is a 1h 20m train ride. We used our Eurail Pass for this trip.

Find out more about the Eurail Pass in this Blog.

Once we had arrived at Paris Nord, we had lined up at the information desk where you can buy a ticket from the train staff. There were a few people in front of us, and we were standing there looking super touristy with our big suitcases.

A man dressed 'looking' like the train staff came to us and offered to help us at the self-serve ticket machines. Hesitantly we decided to follow. He seemed friendly asking us questions about our trip so far and what we had planned. Once at the ticket machines he asked where we wanted to go, we told him and he put it into the machine. While we were standing around the man at the ticket machine, two security guys were yelling out "Pick pocketer" while running toward us.

the guy that was 'helping' had ran off, and the two security guys told us he was a thief. So we had went back to the line we were standing in earlier... Waiting again haha

Later, we had found out his plan was to put the self assist machine into French, so we couldn't read it. He would have selected the ticket we wanted (reasonably expensive) taken our card to pay for it, and cancelled the transaction saying your card was declined. Obviously you wouldn't know any better... He would then offer to pay for it and you would be asked to give him the cash.

While this is happening he would change the ticket type to something like a child fare, one-way ticket which is super cheap. They would hand you the cheap ticket and expect you to pay him the price of the ticket you though you had bought.

So unfortunately he would have made quite a bit of money, while giving you a ticket that wouldn't let you leave the platform when you got to the station you thought your ticket took you.

Still trust people, just try and be aware. I am easily convinced while on the other hand Michael isn't. So he looks out for me :)

Day One - Sightseeing

Well, On a happier note... We had made it to the correct station and checked into our hotel: 'Hotel Paris Vaugirard'. We did all our bookings through Booking.com. This was just your basic hotel, Queen bed, private shower and a little balcony. Super modern and the staff here were so friendly.

Eiffel Tower

WOW! This was incredible. I don't know why, but it was bigger than I expected!

It was quite cloudy the first time we had saw it, but that didn't stop my excitement! :) We were getting around using the Electric LIME Scooters that are scattered around the city.

Fun Fact: The Tower was only meant to stand for 20 years.

Sight seeing via LIME Scooter

We did a bit more scooting around and had visited the Louvre Museum - we didn't go inside, just admired from out side. Such incredible architecture, and is the largest art museum in the World!

Arc de Triomphe was next on our list. It was getting a bit late when we had arrived here, so we unfortunately missed the opportunity to go up to the top :(

Still so much to look at around the base of the monument!

We had also looked at a few more locations; Grand Palais, Notre-Dame Cathedral from afar and scooted across the Alexander III Bridge.

Day Two - Disneyland / Walt Disney Studio Park

What an unforgettable experience - our first Disneyland! If you have the time go and visit this Disneyland, I would say this was our favourite. The Sleeping Beauty Castle was MASSIVE, rides were great and so may characters wondering around.

If you have a chance the stunt show at the Disneyland park was amazing - BEST stunt show we have seen at any Disneyland! Lightning McQueen might even make an appearance.

We had spent the whole day bouncing around the two park (Walking distance from one another). Ate some expensive Mickey and Minnie shaped foods, as well as wore Minnie ears everywhere - It needs to be done :) Maybe some time ill be able to convince Michael to wear some haha.

Not going to lie, it was vey busy when we had gone. There were rude and pushy people everywhere, but it was still a magical day for us.

Day Three - Up the Tower and Catacombs visit

This was a busy day. We went to the top of The Eiffel Tower. Thank god the weather had cleared up for us on this day, made the experience so much more enjoyable. The view was just breathtaking and to top it off there was a sweet man selling fresh macarons. Of course we bought some, such an iconic duo!

Next up for us after a little more walking around was to visit the Catacombs! This really was a highlight for us during out visit to Paris! It's an indescribable experience. Firstly we had eaten a meal close to the location. The line out the front was quite long, which is why it is best to book a time and date online before hand. It is quite a popular attraction, so book as early as you can :)

We had paid the extra to get the audio tour. Don't worry you wont be stuck with a group, its self led and you just have an ear piece attached to an MP3 player - It wasn't much to add this and is available in many languages.

There is so much history here and hopefully you aren't spooked that easy. They recommend you allow about an hour for the tour.

We hope you enjoy yourselves as much as we did. It really is a magical city!
