Our Top Day Trips From SYDNEY.

Some of the BEST places around #Instaworthy

Living here in Sydney, we tend to get out and explore locally when we aren't travelling abroad. These are some of the places we would 100% recommend you visit if you have some time in Sydney. We have a car which makes it easier for us to get around and see these places. I'm sure it would be possible to use public transport, although we have not used it to visit these sights ourselves.

With all that said lets get into it;

1. Blue Mountain National Park

Personally this is one of our faves, it's the home of the famous 'Three Sisters'. Here you will find Scenic World - Katoomba, where there are quite a few attractions. There is the Railway - steepest passenger train in the world. The Skyway - Australia's first cable-car. The Cableway - This is the steepest aerial cart in the Southern Hemisphere. So much to do here, waterfalls to see, hikes to climb and sights to see.

2. Port Stephens

We just love this area, it has a great vibe. There are beautiful beaches and great local places for a feed. One of our top recommendations is to climb Mt. Tomaree, so pack your runners as this one can get quite steep. It's a mix of metal stairs, paved path as well as gravel track. The view from the top is incredible. So it is worth the climb - trust me!

3. Jenolan Caves

This was my first ever cave experience and it was actually pretty amazing. They are the most famous caves here in Australia and are very impressive. These caves are 340 million years old. The ticket prices vary depending on what cave you do a tour of, price can be between $42-$55AUD.

4. Hunter Valley

Another one of our favourites! This is a wine region and has some truly amazing vineyards. We've been here for dinner, festivals and our highlight - Hot Air Balloon ride. It's so peaceful up there, floating around with other hot air balloons! If you decide to do this it is an early morning start, so probably don't travel from Sydney the morning of - stay a bit closer.

5. Jervis Bay

Last but not least, this great place is on the South Coast of NSW. It is the home of Hyams Beach, which is often labeled the beach with the whitest sand in the world. Why not see it for yourself and find out. There are two national parks you can visit, with some nice lookouts. If you like camping this is also a lovely quite place with a few different locations around or even close by.

I would love to hear if you visit some of these places and what you thought.

Safe Travels,

Mandy and Michael xo
